FAQ

What do I wear?

We are casual church and each person should feel welcome to come as they are.  Attire ranges from t-shirts and shorts to dresses and sports coats.  Whatever you choose to wear, you’ll fit right in.

What about my kids?

We have staffed classes for all age groups from nursery through 5th grade. Your kids will be checked in upon arrival and led to a time of fellowship, Bible lessons, and age-appropriate play!  Learn more about our children’s ministry here.

Where's the coffee?

Grab a drink and a snack from The Well, our centrally located coffee shop. The Well is open Sunday mornings from 8:30a to 10:15a and serves a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee, cider, hot chocolate, and herbal teas.  All drinks and snacks are free!

What is the service like?

Great question! You can expect our services to include announcements, a welcome/call to worship, a cappella singing, a time of weekly communion, a message from the Scriptures, and a communal benediction. You might see families, children, or any combination of our members leading us through song or scripture reading. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us through the church office at church@hunterhills.org.

Where are the instruments?

During our worship time on Sunday mornings, we enjoy a cappella worship together. Not because we believe the Bible demands it, but because it is a beautiful and beloved part of our heritage as churches of Christ. We also highly value the experience of being able to hear the whole church sing praise to God. The voices of our church family strengthen us in our faith.

If you’re unfamiliar with a cappella, the word literally means “in the style of the chapel’, but really just refers to music that is sung by an individual or a congregation without instrumental accompaniment.

Weekly Communion?

We celebrate and take communion every Sunday. Communion is a time to remember Christ’s life and sacrifice for every one of us. We practice an open communion and all believers are invited to join with us.  During our communion time trays will be passed and each person who intends to participate will take a cup from the tray. You’ll notice that there are actually two cups stacked one on top of the other.  The top cup contains grape juice which represents Christ’s blood and the bottom cup contains a piece of bread which represents his body.  Gluten free bread is also available for pickup at the back of the auditorium.

How is giving handled?

There are many ways to give to the work of the church at Hunter Hills.  Details of the different available options can be found here.  We don’t pass offering trays during our Sunday morning worship but rather have giving boxes located at each entrance to the auditorium where cash or check donations can be placed.  God always loves a cheerful giver, but guests should not feel obligated or pressured to give.

How can I get connected?

We have many ways to get plugged in at Hunter Hills—from leading a kid’s class to preparing our communion trays, being a greeter to volunteering on our security team. To see all of our offerings, click here.
